Agreement

These Terms of Service are a legally binding agreement between you and TrueStandard Labs LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("TrueStandard," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern the TrueStandard web app at truestandard.ai, the free checks, and the TrueStandard CLI and API, together the Service.

By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is part of this agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Who can use it

You must be at least 18. If you are signing up for a company, you are telling us you have the authority to bind it, and "you" then means both you and that company.

Your account

Give us accurate information and keep it current. You are responsible for your password, for your Google sign-in, and for any CLI token you generate, and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at hello@truestandard.ai the moment you think someone else is in it.

One account is for one person or one company. Do not resell your access or hand your credentials to people outside your organization.

What TrueStandard does

You give us text. We send it to several AI models from different labs, they assess the claims in it independently, and we return a report that labels each claim and shows you where the models disagree. Citations get resolved against Crossref where a DOI is available. Depth settings change how many models run and how many rounds they take.

It is a checking tool for your own writing. It is not legal, medical, financial, tax, or professional advice, and using it creates no advisory or fiduciary relationship between us. Where the stakes are high, the report is a starting point for your own verification rather than a substitute for it.

Plans, credits, and refunds

Paid plans are Pro at $20, Max at $40, Team at $99, and Ultra at $200 per month, each carrying a monthly allowance of credits. A check spends credits according to how much work it does. Credits reset at the start of each billing period and unused credits do not carry over.

Stripe handles payment. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel, and cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep your access until then.

We do not refund partial periods, and unused credits are not refundable. Cancel whenever you like and you will not be charged again.

Free checks are limited per day and carry no guarantee of availability.

We can change prices. Existing subscribers get at least 30 days' notice by email before a change hits their plan, which is long enough to cancel first.

What you may not do

Do not use TrueStandard to:

  • break the law, or produce content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringing.
  • submit someone else's personal data that you have no right to submit.
  • attack the service, work around rate limits or credit metering, or reach parts of it you were not given access to.
  • scrape or bulk-export outputs to train a model, build a dataset, or stand up a competing product.
  • resell, sublicense, or share your access.
  • reverse-engineer the service beyond what the law expressly allows.
  • present a TrueStandard report as an independent audit, a professional opinion, or a guarantee of accuracy.

We can suspend an account that does any of this, and we will tell you why.

Your content

What you submit stays yours. We claim no ownership of your drafts or of the reports we return, and you can use both however your business needs.

To run the service you grant us a limited licence to host, store, transmit, and process your content, including sending it to the AI providers named in the Privacy Policy, for as long as it takes to run your check and to keep it in your history. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

We do not use your content to train AI models. That holds on every plan.

You are responsible for what you submit: that you have the right to submit it, and that submitting it breaks no agreement you are under.

What the report is worth

TrueStandard is built to catch the errors a single model misses, and the design does real work: independent models from different labs, claim-by-claim labels, and DOIs resolved against the registry that issues them rather than taken on trust.

It still gets things wrong. Models can agree and be wrong together. A claim can be labelled verified when it is not, and challenged when it is fine. A citation can resolve and still fail to support the sentence it is attached to. Disagreement between models is a signal to go and look, not a verdict.

We make no warranty that any output is accurate, complete, or fit for what you are about to do with it. What you publish is your decision and your responsibility. Check the things that would hurt to get wrong.

Intellectual property

The Service, the brand, the interface, the prompts, the benchmark methodology, and everything we publish belong to us or to our licensors. These terms give you a licence to use the Service, not ownership of any part of it.

Third-party material quoted in a report belongs to whoever wrote it. We link and cite; we claim nothing.

Third-party services

The Service depends on other companies, listed in the Privacy Policy, and we do not control them. An outage, a change, or a failure at one of them can degrade or interrupt TrueStandard, and their own terms apply to what they do.

No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

Limit of our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, neither party is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, whatever the theory and even if warned it could happen.

Our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is capped at the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so where that is true they apply only as far as the law permits.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless against claims, damages, and reasonable legal costs arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your breach of these terms or of anyone's rights.

Ending it

Cancel any time from the billing portal, or ask us to close your account at hello@truestandard.ai. We can suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that puts the Service or other users at risk, or where the law requires it.

On termination your right to use the Service stops. Your content is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy. Payment obligations already incurred, plus the sections on your content, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnification, and governing law, survive.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

If something goes wrong, email hello@truestandard.ai first and give us 30 days to sort it out. Most things end there.

Anything unresolved after that goes to the state and federal courts located in Texas, and both of us consent to their exclusive jurisdiction. There is no mandatory arbitration clause here and no class-action waiver.

Changes to these terms

We update the date at the top when these terms change. Material changes are emailed to account holders at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that is your acceptance; if you would rather not, cancel.

The rest

If a court strikes part of these terms, the rest stays in force. Our failure to enforce something is not a waiver of it. You may not assign this agreement without our consent; we may assign it in a merger or a sale of the business. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us about the Service.
